Beast Extrication Tool Won at FDIC 2009

Champion Rescue Tools, www.championrescuetools.com, the leader in next-generation, hydraulic rescue tools able to access the passenger compartments of the safest, 5-star crash rated vehicles, and FireEngineering.com, www.FireEngineering.com, presented Jeff Matix of the Oxford, Ohio Fire Department with Champion's Beast MultiTool at the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference, FDIC, www.FDIC.com, in Indianapolis last week.

Firefighter Matix won a contest at the conference sponsored by Champion Rescue Tools and FireEngineering.com's extrication zone, www.fireengineering.com/extrication, firefighters' primary Internet resource for vehicle extrication technology news, information and education. The contest was exclusively for attendees of the country's largest annual firefighter training conference.

"We were delighted to present Firefighter Matix and the Oxford, Ohio Fire Department with a set of Champion's leading technology vehicle extrication tools," said Alan Discount, Champion Rescue Tools' CEO. "As most firefighters know, today's 5-star crash rated vehicles are made with advanced metal combinations to protect passengers in an accident. Firefighters' older, obsolete vehicle extrication tools have great difficulty cutting through these advanced metals. The result is longer times to extricate victims of serious vehicle accidents in the safest cars on the road, often resulting in more serious injury and even death."

"The citizens of Oxford, Ohio now have a fire rescue service with the best vehicle rescue tools available to save lives," continued Discount.

"The Oxford Fire Department was excited to receive the latest technology vehicle extrication tools in the FDIC conference contest," stated John Detherage, Oxford, Ohio's Fire Chief. "5-star vehicle construction technology has complicated extrication of auto accident victims, and Champion's tools will be an asset to protecting our citizens involved in serious auto accidents," continued Chief Detherage.

FDIC and Fire Engineering magazine's marketing manager, Johnny Lantz, said "We congratulate Jeff Matix and the Oxford, Ohio Fire Department on winning the FireEngineering.com Extrication Zone Contest." Continuing, Lance said: "We are proud to pair up with Champion Rescue Tools to giveaway the Beast vehicle extrication tool, sure to be a very valuable addition to Jeff and his fire department's rescue resources."
