Live Fire: Vent-Enter-Search

Removing victims quickly provides the best chance of survival. Vent-enter-search (VES) is often a misunderstood tactic. This class covers the how and when to properly use VES in a variety of situations. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to size up, coordinate, communicate, and perform VES under live fire conditions. Scenarios include various room layouts, considerations for first- and secnd-floor VES, conciderations when searching for children, victim removal techniques, paitent care, and thermal imaging camera use. 

PPE Required: NFPA-compliant structural firefighting pants, coat, hood, gloves, boots, and helmet. (SCBA and face piece will be provided.)
