Science to the Station: Translating Science to Usable Outcomes

Monday, April 24
Firefighter health research has exploded over the past decade. While the peer-reviewed literature is having a significant influence on evolving science, laws, and the medical community, the translation between science and practice at the firefighter level is often limited. This class is an interactive conversation on moving the health research science from the pages of the peer-reviewed literature to practice. Practical examples of studies and their implications for fire service policy and practice will be explored. Current results on topics include cancer, cardiovascular disease, women's health, reproductive health, and behavioral health.
