Art of Go/No-Go ... or Go Slow

Wednesday, April 22
The most challenging decisions you will make in your career typically revolve around your initial decisions at fires. Is it an interior attack, defensive, or some combination of both? Seasoned officers know the difference between "We can get it" and " It's lost." You should too. This class seeks to peel back the layers that allow that degree of strategic and tactical effectiveness to occur. Using a simple framework that allows you to build on your own experiences and those of others, you can develop an intuitive approach that grows with you throughout your career. The goal is to create a framework of three varying profiles: rescue, building, and fire. These profiles allow you to focus on the key decision points and give you the ability draw on what you've learned and react to changes in the dynamic fire environment. This is intended to be both a tool for the fireground and a dynamic instructional method that will greatly enhance decision making aptitude during drills.
