Command Under Fire
This workshop teaches new and experienced incident commanders as well as line officers the art of commanding an incident, making decisions, assigning personnel vital fire ground tasks, communicating strategies over the radio, and tracking all units using Tactical Incident Charts. It will reinforce using the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and explain how NIMS helps with span of control and organizing the incident. Students will learn the framework to make sound decisions, convey their strategy over the radio, and run an effective functional fireground.
