Establishing Firefighter Rescue Training Programs and Practical Prop Building

Monday, April 20
Unfortunately, many firefighters are still not properly trained before being assigned to a rapid intervention team (RIT). This course will reinforce that a solid RIT training program will increase the chances of survival for a down firefighter by providing well-trained and proficient team members. Case studies with proven firefighter saves and rescues will be discussed along with how to instruct managing a Mayday, RIT officer guidelines, and best practices for RIT operations. Discussion on firefighter rescue and survival prop construction, types of props, and prop safety features will be followed by practical hands-on sessions using these props. This program is a must for those wishing to broaden their understanding of what a firefighter rescue training program should consist of and what they can accomplish with a solid, well-planned, formal RIT training program using well-built and safe training props.
