Learning from Others' Experiences
This class focuses on viewing videos and photos depicting moments captured on the fireground that illustrates how firefighters' aggressive actions can lead to danger and interfere with the tasks at hand, leaving firefighters at risk for injury or death. Topics include fire scene incident management, safety and accountability, vehicle placement and operations, hoseline placement, use of portable ground ladders, building construction, water supply, and search and rescue. Also discussed will be officer development covering strategy and tactics, radio communications, and fire department policies and procedures that apply to best practices.
