Mid-Rise Mayhem: Engine Company Operations in Mid-Rise Buildings
These buildings are taking the United States by storm. While most urban and suburban areas have them, how many of us genuinely have experience fighting a fire in a mid-rise building? These three- to six-story buildings present unique challenges. This program will cover multiple aspects of firefighting and command priorities within the mid-rise building, including short-staffed stretching, command tactical options, estimating the stretch, well hole stretching, offensive deck gun operations, 2�-inch monitor deployment, and extending hoseline options. The HOT portion will demonstrate several of the stretches and key points in making them successful.
