Monday, April 20
Room 135
Todays fire service demands more than just "checking boxes." This dynamic session challenges attendees to rethink, refine, and elevate their approach to probationary firefighter training. Built around an eight-step process, the class guides fire service leaders, training officers, and company-level instructors through a practical framework for assessing, designing, and improving probationary programs that build compliance, competence, and confidence. Topics include conducting a gap analysis, building a strong culture, crafting meaningful expectations, developing task books, and implementing effective instructional strategies and evaluations. The program concludes with a focus on continuous improvement. Attendees will leave with tangible tools, fresh ideas, and a renewed commitment to raising the bar for their next generation of firefighters.
