Response Challenges for Super-Block Complexes

Thursday, April 23
Many fire departments that respond to standalone high-rise buildings are challenged by these low-frequency/high-difficulty environments with limited personnel to perform their duties and responsibilities. However, add into the fold a "super-block" (healthcare and office occupancies) of interconnecting low- or high-rise buildings above and below grade. These dynamic and massive environments demand constant learning, adapting, and staying current with the fire department response challenges for this set of buildings. This class will help unravel the vast fire protection and building systems, numerous transportation modes, as well as life safety and security measures for these mixed-use occupancies.
