Standpipes: Much More Than Just "Making the Hallway"
All too often, the focus of high-rise engine company operations is "making the hallway." Unfortunately, there is more to it than that. This class will focus on four main topics: understanding the system side of standpipes, fire department supply of these systems, addressing emergency water loss, and buildings under construction or demolition. To be more effective, we need to know more than just where we connect our supply and attack lines. We need to understand the systems that provide the means of our fire attack and how to address any issues that arise.
