The Nontraditional Truck Company

Tuesday, April 21

This class will incorporate some of the basic skills that an engine-based fire department would use when switching to truck company operations, emphasizing the basic operations of what a nontraditional truck company would do when responding or being given a truck company task while en route. Being able to go from engine operations to truck immediately is paramount in areas that do not run truck companies or when a truck company is not coming. The focus will be on five disciplines: forcible entry, search (split search), vent-enter-search, ventilation (dice cut for speed and effectiveness), and the working tasks of the chauffeur.
