The Other Forcible Entry: Through the Lock
Every alarm deserves a level of professionalism that requires a thorough size-up to determine the best means of access under any conditions and "justifying" the level of "acceptable" damage. This class focuses on the fundamentals of through-the-lock to build a foundation of lock identification and executing common techniques. This class will start with a guided lecture that will focus on identifying and manipulating common lock types, methods of cylinder removal and lock manipulation, and a size-up-based progression for troubleshooting when common issues are encountered. Following the lecture, attendees will be divided into groups, rotated through lock stations, and encouraged to go hands on with locks and techniques. Attendees will have a foundation of lock identification and manipulation on which to build on, increasing their success on the fireground.
