Tips and Techniques for Technical Rescue
There are several times when a rescuer will be called to a technical rescue incident and realize that this incident does not fit the "normal" looking calls. There are so many variables that can change when we talk about technical rescue that we cannot possibly teach them all in every discipline that technical rescue encompasses. Therefore, we need to understand some simple techniques that will carry over into several other disciplines that will help you accomplish your mission. In this class, we will discuss methods that are simple, safe, and proven that will help the rescuers overcome many obstacles that may be preventing them from accomplishing their objective. Topics include low-edge transitions, pickoff techniques in high-angle environments, ways to remove patients from trenches, and the latest research and testing that is being performed in the rope rescue discipline.
