VES: Beyond The Door
Beyond the door is not just speaking about physically searching beyond the door but thinking outside the check box that has consumed most VES training. We will discuss real-world incidents; public expectations; and the size-up process of what tools to bring, where to start our search, and how to continue our search beyond the initial room of entry if conditions allow in a split search fashion that will have us putting THEM first and searching bedrooms all hours of the day as quickly as possible. Then we will discuss the decision to isolate in place or to remove and the techniques to do so.
