This course begins with a 1.5-hour classroom lecture covering safety in and around elevator equipment along with an introduction to safely handling elevator emergencies. Participants will then move to real elevators and be rotated through five skills stations covering the use of door keys/pick tools, elevator equipment safety tour, manually lowering a hydraulic elevator, securing a cable traction elevator mechanically, and setting up for a safe top hatch removal.

PPE Required: Lightweight rescue gear or jumpsuit, helmet, gloves, eye protection.
