Elevator Emergency Management-Operations
This class will begin with a didactic 1.5-hour lecture about safety in and around elevator equipment and an introduction on how to safely handle an elevator emergency. Participants will then be rotated through five skills stations that cover the use of door keys/pick tools, elevator equipment safety tour, manually lowering a hydraulic elevator, securing a cable traction elevator mechanically, and setting up for a safe top hatch removal.
PPE Required: Lightweight rescue gear or jumpsuit, helmet, gloves, eye protection.
