Preet Bassi has been chief executive officer of the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) since 2014 and oversees work across all fire department accreditation, credentialing, and education programs with a focus on the organization's strategic direction.  During her tenure, CPSE has experienced unprecedented growth and impact.  Prior to CPSE, she was the director of finace and administration for the International Accreditation Service and managed the Fire and Life Safety and Building department Accreditation Programs.  Bassi chairs the NFPA 1022 Technical Committee, a new standard for fire service analysts.  She also serves as the vice chair of the Congressional Fire Services Institute's National Advisory Committee and the chair of the American Society of Association Executives' Research Committee.  She has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California and dual bachelor's degrees in economics and political science from the University of California Davis.
