Large Truck Extrication
This class places great emphasis on rescuers not taking a passenger vehicle approach to a large truck extrication. Students will gain working knowledge of large truck and tractor-trailer construction including air, electrical, and suspension systems and learn options for use of electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools to stabilize, gain access, and perform disentanglement from semi tractors, large straight trucks, and cars trapped under trailers. Working with heavy wreckers will be covered and case studies will be reviewed.
