Monday, April 15
HOT 8 Hour
Firefighting

Many departments are facing limited staffing or relying solely on mutual aid when arriving to a working fire. Regardless of staffing levels, there are a multitude of tasks that need to be completed to successfully stabilize the incident. We must train for our reality and properly deploy our resources for the greatest outcome. This class will focus on small unit coordinated tactics that include building construction, size-up, proper interior hoseline placement, ventilation, primary search, and firefighter removal and CPR. Live fire scenarios will include an array of specific fireground situations that are carried out with limited staffing and that result in positive outcomes.

PPE Required: NFPA-compliant structural firefighting pants, coat, hood, gloves, boots, and helmet. (SCBA and face piece will be provided.)

*Eligible for CEH/CAPCE Credit
