EMS CrossFit: The Alabama EMS Challenge

The practice of EMS, no matter at what level, is the practice of Emergency Medicine. Just without the 4 years of medical school and 3 years of residency, thousands of hours of clinical training and the “beat down “of continues critique and follow up. Well, welcome to your chance to run the gauntlet of follow up with the EMS Challenge. This is scenario-based training  with teams of providers and onlookers all while wearing a body camera. You will be challenged with three to four scenarios to work as a team with an Emergency Medicine / EMS physician from UAB’s Section of Pre -Hospital Medicine as your proctor and facilitator. Run the calls, break it down afterwards with the docs and move on to the next case. Then once done, the entire group meets and watches the videos, reviews the call again, debriefs, and shows how physician input, live feed reviews, and then patient outcome data, even if limited can enhance learning, teamwork, morale, and patient outcomes.
