EMS Evidence Lab: Read It. Challenge It. Apply It.

EMS

EMS is full of studies, headlines, expert opinions, and long-held practices—but how do you decide what should actually change the way you care for patients?

In this highly interactive four-hour workshop, you’ll build practical skills to critically evaluate EMS research and decide what the evidence really means for your patients, your protocols, and your practice. Working with real EMS literature, you’ll learn how to quickly break down a paper, recognize important limitations and sources of bias, make sense of the numbers that matter, question conclusions, and distinguish an interesting finding from evidence strong enough to change practice.

This won’t be four hours of statistics lectures or a passive journal club. You’ll read, discuss, debate, and challenge the evidence alongside Dr. Jeff Jarvis, Dr. Remle Crowe, Dr. David Wampler, and your fellow participants. You’ll put your skills to work on current EMS studies, including papers the faculty think deserve attention right now, and tackle the question at the heart of evidence-based practice: What, if anything, should we do differently because of this?

Come ready to question assumptions, challenge conclusions, and change your mind when the evidence warrants it. You’ll leave with a practical approach you can use the next time a study, headline, protocol change, or claim about the “latest evidence” comes across your screen.

Read it. Challenge it. Apply it.
