Engine Company Excellence (05TA)

From the rig to the door and from the door to the fire room, engine company operations are the backbone of fire ground success. Getting the first line into position and into opertation on the fire will dictate the level of success of every other fire ground activity. This class will cover all aspects of getting a hoseline into position and operation on the fireground. From shorter stretches to long stretches and preconnect stretches to bulk bed streches, this class will provide options for estimating the amount of hose needed for the stretch as well as for performing the hose stretch itself. From basic nozzle mechanics and skills to hit and move techniques and flow and move techniques, this class will provide the skills to make the push down the hallway and into the fire room, culminating in a successful fire attack.
