Coordination is one of those words that gets thrown around in the fire service, but its meaning and what it takes to accomplish it can often be misunderstood and underestimated. Ensuring our operations remain aligned, especially the support function of ventilation, is imperative to an optimizing performance and outcomes. This process can be distilled down to 3 core elements''The Triad of Coordination:' competency; communication; and control. When an organization commits to embodying these principles, coordination can be consistently achieved on the fireground.
