World’s Leading Thinkers on High-Rise Fire Safety Coming to FDIC International 2024
The 8th International Tall Building/High Rise Conference will make its US debut April 15-17, 2024 alongside FDIC International in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The event, recognized by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), will bring delegates together with speakers from around the world for three days to provide valuable insights into current best practices, tall building fire safety innovation, and relevant high-fire safety issues including façade testing, 2nd stair debate, smoke hoods, green walls, electric vehicles, PV panels, tall timber, means of escape for vulnerable people, smoke control, high-rise firefighting, drones, hoarding residents, balcony fire risks, new generation fire detection, case studies, car parks, high-rise construction, lithium-ion batteries, tenant/resident engagement, arson prevention, fire engineering developments, and lots more.
This will mark the 8th edition of the Tall Building Fire Safety Conference, with previous events featuring many of the leading thinkers on high rise fire safety. Previous conferences attracted delegates from 22 countries and included representation from architecture, insurance, building control, construction, fire product manufacturers, and firefighters.

Each day will also feature a topical and relevant debate:

Day 2 – ‘Are we ready for Green Walls, Tall Timber in High Rise?’ Debate
Day 3 – ‘How are changing occupant behaviour and characteristics affecting fire safety in high-rise residential buildings?’ Debate
Several International Fire Safety Membership organisations will be sending delegates to the conference, which will provide a good basis for analysing contrasting approaches and policies. High-profile VIP speakers will be delivering keynote addresses and providing insights into work underway around the World on issues such as façade testing, tall timber, evacuation of people with mobility impairment, fire risk assessment and firefighting.
