Dan Shaw, a fire service student since 1992, retired in July 2024 as the Chief of Operations for the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department, VA. He has instructed at FDIC since 2009 and teaches nationwide. Dan has been published in Fire Engineering, co-authored 25 to Survive: Reducing Residential Injury & LODD, and is a Technical Editor for Fire Engineering, and was the Keynote for FDIC 2022.
