Daniel D. Shaw, a member of the fire service since 1992, is an assistant chief of operations for the Fairfax County (VA) Fire & Rescue Department. He has instructed at FDIC since 2009 and teaches nationwide on fire service topics and leadership. He has been published in Fire Engineering, co-authored 25 to Survive: Reducing Residential Injury and LODD, and was the keynote for FDIC 2022.
