James Kirsch, MPA, EFO, is a retired captain with the Bergenfield (NJ) Fire Department and is an instructor for a regional fire training center. A former volunteer fire chief, he is a NJ State certified drill ground instructor, incident manager, and fire prevention official. He has authored six articles for Fire Engineering and co-authored the Study Guide for Fire Engineering’s Handbook for Firefighter I and II.
