Stephen Marsar is a 32year-plus veteran of the Fire Department of New York and a battalion chief. He is the former chief/commissioner of the Bellmore (NY) Volunteer Fire Department. He has a master’s in homeland security and defense; has a bachelor’s in fire science and emergency services administration; is a graduate with honors from the Executive Fire Officer Program; and is a two-time recipient of FEMA’s National Outstanding Research Award. He is a columnist for firefighternation.com and an Advisory Board member of FDIC and Fire Engineering.
