Performance, Culture & Wellness Symposium

Monday & Tuesday, April 12–13, 2027 | Indiana Convention Center

The Performance, Culture & Wellness Symposium brings together the interconnected pillars that can make or break a firefighter’s career: the brain, the body, the family, and the organization.

Today’s research is showing us that firefighter health cannot be understood in isolation. Sleep affects mental health and decision-making. Stress influences physical health, recovery, and relationships. Family wellness impacts performance at work, while leadership and organizational culture can influence health, retention, and career longevity.

This symposium moves beyond traditional, siloed approaches to wellness to examine how these systems interact and influence one another. By connecting emerging research with practical fire service applications, attendees will gain a better understanding of what drives firefighter performance, readiness, resilience, and long-term health from the beginning of a career through retirement.
