Technology Symposium

Monday & Tuesday, April 12–13, 2027 | Indiana Convention Center

Real Technology. Real Applications. Real Results.

Technology is changing how the fire service operates, from the way departments train and communicate to how they manage incidents, evaluate risk, and make critical decisions. But adopting new technology is only part of the challenge. Understanding how to implement it effectively, integrate it into existing operations, and turn it into measurable improvements is where the real work begins.

The FDIC Technology Symposium brings together fire service leaders, experienced practitioners, and subject matter experts for four immersive, four-hour workshops across Monday and Tuesday of FDIC International.

Each workshop takes a practical, implementation-focused approach to a critical area of fire service technology. Through real-world case studies, peer perspectives, and candid discussions, participants will explore how departments are putting technology to work, overcoming common challenges, and translating innovation into operational results.

The four workshops explore:

  • Technology Readiness and Implementation: Evaluate organizational readiness, build department-wide support, develop realistic implementation strategies, and ensure technology investments deliver lasting value.
  • Data and Artificial Intelligence: Explore how departments are leveraging data, analytics, and AI to support informed decision-making, improve efficiency, and strengthen operational capabilities.
  • Connected Operations and Situational Awareness: Examine how integrated systems, communications, and real-time information sharing can improve coordination, incident management, and decision-making on the fireground.
  • Emerging Fireground Technology: Discover how drones, robotics, sensors, and wearable technology are expanding operational capabilities, improving situational awareness, and helping reduce firefighter risk.

Throughout the Symposium, the emphasis remains on what works in the field, not just what is possible. Participants will examine implementation challenges, operational considerations, lessons learned, and the policies and practices necessary to move technology from concept to meaningful application.

Choose the experience that fits your needs. Register for all four workshops for a comprehensive look at fire service technology, or select individual workshops aligned with your department's priorities and challenges.
